Spring 2024 availability is listed below. Orders may be placed using the Contact Form found at the bottom of this page.
VERY IMPORTANT!! PLEASE READ: Before placing an order for bareroot stock, please consider the following:
Please be prepared to be available to pick up your bareroot trees as soon as you are contacted in the spring that they have been dug (specific pick up dates are not offered). If your schedule does not allow this flexibility, please consider purchasing potted trees. Bareroot stock is dug immediately after the frost is completely out of the ground and we are able to safely dig and remove all roots for transplant packaging. Over the past 10+ years, we have dug bareroot transplants as early as April 15th and as late as May 15th. Our bareroot transplants are only dug while they are in full dormancy (sleeping). For the Spring 2024 season, bareroot trees will be ready to be picked up sometime between Saturday, April 20th, 2024 and Sunday, May 5th, 2024 – again, all dependent on the day that the frost is out of the ground in the transplant beds. It is necessary to get your dormant trees into the ground at your location as soon as possible. The survivability drops 50% when the trees are planted after your trees’ buds have begun to swell and the tiny root hairs have started growing.

FAQ
What does ‘bareroot’ mean?
Bareroot tree seedlings and transplants are field-grown. They are removed from the ground while they are dormant, which in our location in central Maine is typically between mid-April and the second week of May. The excess dirt is removed from the roots. We place a packaging wrap around the roots and then secure them in a bundle tied with string for transport. The trees are not in a pot/container with dirt.
When do I plant my bareroot seedlings and transplants?
Your bareroot tree seedlings and transplants should be planted within 24-48 hours of being removed from the ground on our farm.
What is the guarantee on my bareroot seedlings and transplants?
During their first growing season, newly planted bareroot trees of all heights and root masses require moisture monitoring, watering as needed and extensive weed and sod control. If you are committed to putting in the work during the first growing season, you can expect to have a high survivability rate. OUR GUARANTEE is that the bareroot trees seedlings and transplants that you are purchasing are healthy, fully budded, are in a dormant state, have moist roots and are properly packaged for transportation.
When I place my order, can I request a specific date to pick up my order?
